Episode 107: Yes, aaaaaand….

Tonight we meander a bit before we actually get out some questions. Like, almost all of the episode. The good news (for some of you), is that it’s not about video games! The bad news (for some of you), is that it’s largely about roleplaying games.  Enjoy!

    The real one?

Twitter: Ba… oops out of characters. :p

    107

BSG: That show is like crack.

Hamstrings: Though mine aren’t as bad as yours sound; my hamstrings are very, very tight. Though since I’ve been going to a chiropractor and doing the exercises they recommend; my hamstrings are slowly loosening up. Granted they still hurt something awful when I do the stretching exercises.

Magic going to sh…: Am I right in guessing that was Dan? ‘Cuz if it’s not Dan; it totally should have been. 🙂

Reverse Staking: That’s kind of awesome and I think must have kind of made your player’s night.

Teaches you language: Really? Nobody teaches us language? I’m sure my English teachers in school might have words to say about that. Whether they agree with you or not; I leave to the imaginations of your readers.

Listening: I’ve been behind but I’m catching up today.

Favorite childhood toy: For me this is an easy one; Legos.

William: Feb 16 is your birthday? That’s a little bit of a coincidence, as that’s also the birthday of one of my brothers.

Stuffed Animals: Like Tony, I had ridiculous amounts of stuffed animals as a child. I even still had them for after college, then the youngest of my older brothers had his daughter and I gifted dozens of stuffed animals to her. She was thrilled but he was not. 😀

Sticks: The two of you were childhood Makers, which is kind of impressive.

  2. Cindy says:

Favorite childhood toy: I loved that Barn growing up! I remember playing with that with my younger sister.. I also played with barbie dolls and Easy Bake Oven. Like William, gowning up on the farm, I remember making mud pies, making bracelets & necklaces out of flowers and played dress up with those and building forts out of boxes.

BTW, I’m now caught up on listening, Tony.. 😉

Tweets – I didn’t see the Fallout: New Vegas tweet until I heard this and went looking for it. And yes, that tweet is a true statement.

I was trying to be funny but I’ve had a cold and been sleep deprived. I think I remembered that last episode you said you would keep making sure the episode when up EVERY WEEK until one of you is dead. So that seemed like tempting fate to me and I thought it would be funny to ask you on a Thursday (the day you record) which one of you was dead.

    • Bloodsparrow says:

Script – I send in a little more feedback, and I just got a link to a new version of the script.

    • Bloodsparrow says:

Hamstrings – I’m sorry to hear they’re giving you trouble. But glad you’re still motivated. *waves POM POMs*

    • Bloodsparrow says:

You must practice improv of any kind. It’s like a muscle that must be used to keep it strong.

    • Bloodsparrow says:

Don’t get me started on the whole “hand-me-down” “that’s actually mine” thing.

      • Bloodsparrow says:

I had the small plastic “Little People”. I had a castle and the Sesame Street set, as well as a bunch of normal house stuff (I still have the rocking horse).

I also had Weebles. (Weebles, wobble but they don’t fall down.)

I had a lot of Mattel stuff, because their HQ was near where I lived and we knew people who worked there. I was on a focus group panel for a Noah’s Arc toy which I got to keep!

        • Bloodsparrow says:

          WEEBLES!

          I had cowboy Weebles.

        • Bloodsparrow says:

I also had a Big Wheel

Oh! And a See & Sew.

          Sit & Spin was crazy.

          • Bloodsparrow says:

Oh oh! And the skipping lemon!

They redesigned and rebranded that later, but it was a weight(lemon shaped, don’t ask me why) at the end of a black rubber… cord? And there was a loop and the other end you put around your ankle. So you would spin the weight around with one leg and then you would have to skip with the other… So it was like no-hands, one-legged, jump rope.

      • Bloodsparrow says:

We did lots of stuff with Popsicle sticks and clothespins.

        • Beth says:

Yeah, I think I had one of those in its re-branded “SkipIt” phase. It had a counter for how many skips you did, but it seemed to work poorly. The SkipIt name seems to be more apt than a Leg Lemon or whatever it was called before.

In terms of the script, I do intend to give more feedback at some point… just had a lot going on here recently and haven’t had the time. As soon as I’m done with the dicebag for the fella who won the auction for a gift certificate in Azuretalon’s auction, I will have some time and can give you some more in depth feedback.

Favorite toy here was also Legos, though I spent an awful lot of time in my bed tent. Yes, I said bed tent. It was a tent that had a base like a fitted sheet that would go on my twin bed. I would spend hours in that thing playing with toys or reading. I also had a tendency to build forts on our enclosed back patio. Forts that, in retrospect, seem more like Moroccan pleasure tents with lots of pillows for lounging and snacks and beverages… and girls. I was such a pimp as a boy. All the girls wanted to come to my house. Weird how once I wanted them to come to my house they stopped wanting to…
