I was never that into candy at Halloween. It was all about the dressing up. I would definitely have taken the toy swap.

Almost nobody goes trick or treating in my neighborhood anymore. 🙁 I did get to see a very cute Scarecrow and Dorothy brother and sister.

“Into the Badlands” looks like a Sci-Fi Samurai Western. Apparently AMC is tapped into my computer and decided to design a show that I will not be able to resist.

  3. jas says:

I love museums. When I went on field trips to the art museum in elementary school I used to try to think up scenarios where I could hide out and be left behind and just live there.

Besides the arguments you guys presented against trait selection, I also think, it’s a false assumption that human traits can be narrowed down to something that can be selected without messing around with a lot of other stuff.

We need to be reading a lot more stories about the problems with hubris. Humans (me included) seem to have an ongoing problem with thinking they have control and knowledge of how things are going to turn out. You know….the kind of thing that leads someone to think they know the future and tell everyone else what they should do based on this absolute certainty. :p

Re: Will saying things that are sometimes misunderstood.

As far as an ongoing conversation is concerned–clarity is really over rated. It’s true that misunderstanding can sometimes lead to not great things, but generally I think it’s more likely to stimulate a creative discussion when the people involved are approaching it with a good will. 🙂

Cat Condo: We got something like what you described for Raja a while back and he mostly ignores it. We also go him what I think of as Camp Kitty. It’s a part scratching pad/part cat tent. He basically ignored it for almost a year, but now crawls into it all the time.

Baby’s Butt: For being a low-hack of a joke, it was still pretty funny.

Let The Right One In: I disagree that there’s nothing scary about this movie. It’s not scary in a startle the audience way, but it’s definitely a psychological/disturbing scary.

Switch Witch: That’s a new one to me.

Promotions at work: I apparently missed those announcements, so congrats!

Supergirl: Nope, I caught part of sneak preview earlier this summer when we went to Wizard World Chicago and it looked dreadful.

Fallout4: PipBoy app, yeah I played around with that briefly when I started playing Fallout4, but it’s too clunky to use. Though I’ve heard it works better if you have a tablet setup running the app next to your computer.

Design a museum of anything: My knee jerk reaction would be to design a meta-museum of museums.

Nature vs. Nurture?: Nature can frequently be overcome by indoctrination.
