Episode 231 : Martin Scorsese’s Dracula

This week, we catch up on William’s brain, and plan his excursions to the State Fair. Tony talks about his discomfort with nudity. And there’s a lot of literary criticism. Enjoy!

Quick comment, somewhat in line wth this episode’s theme. Just letting you know I’m away traveling in England for couple weeks. Yesterday was on the train to London. Every once in a while a mysterious thumping noise could be heard coming from outside the train (while the train was moving). After the third or fourth time, I overheard a little boy hypothesizing on the source of the odd sound…. Werewolves

Thank you for clarifying that you don’t love us.

William still having a brain: WOOT!

Chart mix-up: Disturbingly enough I’m not surprised by that in the slightest.

Carmilla was by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu.

Reading a lot: Define “a lot”. I regularly read ~125 books a year and I’m currently at 111 so far this year. And then there are all the blogs and web articles I read, plus magazines and random, single issues of comics. If you still think you read a lot; how do you keep track of what you’ve read?

Gaming with Dav of Id: Sorry I’ve been missing this. Wait and you’re now doing a campaign of Atomic Robo? Well crap, I really need to try to get back to coming to this.

Work issues: Sorry to hear about that Tony, but glad that it didn’t cost you/Producer your jobs.

Killjoys: Yeah, it’s a bit of a guilty pleasure. I have fun with it, but it’s not really well written.

Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell: Did you just hate the show or did you not care for the book either? I’ve only heard from fans of the book and they all liked the show.

Waistcoats: Too formal for every day wear.

    Danielle Steel: Ha!

Authors before bed: There are several authors that for me I regularly lose all track of time when I’m reading their works. This means I can easily end up reading as late early as 4am, when I have to go to work the next morning. Authors that do this to me are now my “no reading before bed list.” John Scalzi, and Patrick Rothfuss are examples of these problem authors.
