I saw that Gary Oldman ad and Tony did a perfect rendition of the subtext.

Re: Reimaginings: JL8 is so on target with the characters as kids.

Speaking of webcomics, I may have recommended before, but “Unsounded” is great.

Remind me to tell you the stories from the one time I went on a zombie walk.

Agents of SHIELD: A big problem with this show was their need to both tie the show so tightly to Captain America: Winter Soldier without revealing any of the secrets of the movie. They really should have been at least willing to hint at things in the movie. Once you know some of those secrets, a lot of the story choices make more sense in AoS, but it also reduces the impact of some of the very character specific things that happened.

The Chocolate Garden: How was that? I remember seeing signs for it when we drove up to Saginaw to visit my mom, but our drive was long enough that we didn’t stop to check it out.

About Time: I remember the trailers for that and it sounded interesting. Your description of it makes it sound even more interesting; now I just have to wait for Netflix to pick it up.

Gotham TV: Really? I somehow totally missed hearing about this. Interesting.

Zombies: Eh, what about Warm Bodies?

Zombie Preparedness: The CDC has a page about it. Need one really say more?

P.S. That ‘Star Wars ’80s High School’ artwork is amazing. 🙂

P.P.S. I’m too lazy to do a lot of things, but look shit up on the internet is not one of them.

P.P.P.S. Woo, I’m only a single episode behind now!

I was reminded of something about Zombies when I was talking about “The Walking Dead” with my son.

The word “Zombi” was introduced into the English language by Robert Southey (a cousin of Samuel Taylor Coleridge) who was writing about a slave uprising against the Spanish in 1694 in a book he was writing on the history of Brazil. The slaves established their own community and referred to their leader as “Zombi” which Southey writes means “the devil.” In Coleridge’s copy of the book (which is in the British Library), Coleridge wrote in a correction in the margins: “Zombi” does not mean devil, but daimon or vital force/spirit. It’s kind of ironic (and makes sense in terms of how history and language gets revised by the winners) that “Zombi” came to mean the very thing the slaves were escaping from.
