Episode 556 : Superhero McGee

YouTube link here. You still can’t see the fart machine, sorry.

This week, we resolve our email from last week, discuss more heart stuff, a bit of TV and movie things, and then dive deep into the capricious and arbitrary nature of the action figure industry, all thanks to Azuretalon. Enjoy!

This in my favorite version of that song, maybe it will ween you off?

And my current ear worn. I tried to make a November version but Beaver Moon doesn’t work as well.

Sorry this took so long to appear. The blog was scared of all the links, so I had to manually approve it.

Also, I’m definitely not clicking on any of those links, you nut job. 😛

Would I steer you wrong? Absolutely! But not about heavy metal.

I’ve seen Within Temptation in concert and practically fell in love with Sharon in the first 30 seconds. She did a whole album of pop covers and most of them are better than the originals. Somebody That I Used to Know (above) is especially good.

And Ghost, do you not like Ghost? It’s the theme from Halloween Kills and it rocks. It’s Hunter’s Moon, which is a full moon in October, which is why I was trying to sing a November version (Beaver Moon)

Huh… yes, you would steer me wrong… I remember you introduced me to Within Temptation… honestly didn’t work for me, too much. Kinda, but not enough that I got any songs or albums. Also, I’m not convinced that a cover of the song tormenting me will stop the torment, and might in fact increase the torment. And I have no idea who Ghost is and I have no interest in Halloween Kills and…

          ..hmm…

… yeah, going with my first instinct. Not touching those evil, evil links. 😛

If y’all know bardcore, there’s a funny cover of that song by “Hildegaard von Blingen’ “.

She also does a great version of Radiohead’s “Creep.” And the lyrics to “Bad Romance” are hysterical.

      I want thine ugly
      I want thy disease
Take aught from thee shall I
      If it can be free

      I want thy heartache
      The touch of thy hand
      For weal or woe
I want each kiss in the sand

If it makes William feel any better, I didn’t want the figures and get them. They existed and I just stumbled upon them. I was a fan of the toys without a background in the show.

    • William says:

I can relate to that. Action figures are awesome in their own right.

I’ve always been a fan of toys. Especially toys that let one roleplay, like toy versions of adult things (toy power tools, toy kitchen equipment, some riding toys, etc.) or playsets and their accompanying figures (like old Playskool sets) or action figures with lots of accessories (like the original G. I. Joes). Puzzle/challenge toys are pretty great, too. And science toys! Building toys…

      Toys are awesome.

When you’re feeling better I’d love to have lunch with you guys and if we do it here I can show off my collection. I have had fascination with action figures and (or including) toys that transform, combine, or wear armor. Bonus points if it’s Modular.

    • themagicaltalkinghat says:

Why would that be better? So William can’t get figures on the shows he wants, but you’re just stumbling into action figures that you fall in love with.

      You’re so mean to William.

      That’s my job.
