Episode 508 : Exploding Head Syndrome

YouTube link here.

This week, we learn that William’s head is set to explode! Unfortunately, we find that out at the very end. So this is just the usual episode of TV and movies. Oak Island fans will be happy. And Tony opens with a joke not near as funny as in his head. Basic standard stuff. Enjoy!

QUESTIONS:

**Dear TMTH, Johnson County was named after a dude who never came here, then a President, then the first black lady PhD at UIowa. All Johnsons. Discuss –Beth

  1. Beth says:

Abridged questions – the hat requests that questions fit into 140 characters or less and because of this, I always check that my questions are within that limit. (I use the character count in word.)

The Johnson question: it was originally named for a former Vice President of the name of Johnson who had never been here. (I was wrong, it was never named for President Andrew Johnson.) The heart of the question was asking ‘do you think it was appropriate to change the namesake of the county without asking for widespread public input.’

I think changing the actual name of the county (from Johnson to say, BillyBob) is very complicated. However, to keep the name, but change who the namesake is, is apparently easy.

The Marion counties are almost assuredly NOT named for semi-disgraced former DC Mayor Marion Barry (served multiple terms between 1979 and 1999)

Why doesn’t Tony write his questions into the hat? n/m on answering here, I’ll send it in.
