Episode 504 : A Ray of Sunshine

We talk about the election. More than we should. It’s mostly my fault. Then William is super cheery and makes Tony not at all want to jump off a bridge. Also, Tony’s obsessed with a new show. Probably other stuff, too. Enjoy!

  1. William says:

I’m embarrassed to say that I forgot to mention that earlier in the week I learned that one of my sisters-in-law (one of Abby’s sisters) was diagnosed with COVID-19. So… more bad news than I originally reported. I just heard today about my Alaska sister-in-law, so… was just really thinking about that, I guess. ☹️

  2. William says:

Let’s Make a Deal… that’s the Monty Hall show we were thinking of, not Truth or Consequences. I don’t even know if Hall ever even hosted the latter.

Let’s Make a Deal! Yes, that *was* the one I was thinking of.

Ironically, I always associate “Truth or Consequences” not with the game show, but with the town in New Mexico… that named itself after the game show.

  3. Beth says:

Listening to this on January 12; oh the innocence of discussing the 2020 election in early November…
Tony, did you stick with your resolution not to party until it’s certified? Did you actually party on Jan 6? Waiting for Jan 20?

Yes, Who Wants to be a Millionaire is still on. Currently hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. I saw them this week hosting celebrities playing for charity. Due to pandemic, the “ask the audience” lifeline has been changed to “ask the host.” The other night, there was a semi-obscure question about Jimmy Kimmel, so it was nice for the player that he had that lifeline left.

I’d like to be on Jeopardy, it takes a lot of knowledge to do well at it though. I think I could do well on 25 words or less, but the “grand” prize is only $10K.

I’ve not heard of “25 Words or Less” in this context. But based on your questions to the Hat… no, no you could not do well on that. 😛
