Tony has way too much in his head. He spills it out all over the podcast. And William discusses HBO Max. Enjoy!

Yes, we’re still showing it on YouTube as well.

  1. Craig says:

Pratchett was a literary genius and definitely deserves wider recognition, there are very few writers that can break the rules the way he did. Makes me want to dig out my collection and finally work out which books I’m missing so I can complete it.

I’d possibly be up for guest appearance though don’t know if the time zones would work out.

I think it’d be about 1:30am on Friday, when we record.

But, if we opted to do it, we could probably adjust our recording time to something slightly less monstrous. 🙂

  2. Beth says:

Histeria was awesome! I’d watch some more of that now if it were available on a streaming service I had access to 🙂
Ok, I got curious: looks like there are 52 episodes across 2 seasons. Allegedly you can watch season 1 for free here: https://watchcartoon.org/histeria-season-1/

I’d be willing to be part of the guest rotation. Especially if you were going to do something bigger for the 500th episode.

Melatonin Supplements: When I still worked at the hospital, one of my nurse co-workers suggested if I was going to take them that I should: take it 15-20 minutes before bed. She also mentioned that overtime the body becomes used to it and that one should eventually stop taking them. What I’ve done is when I feel the need to take them I buy a bottle; I use them nightly until the bottle is gone and then I stop taking them for 3-6 months. If after that time I’m still having trouble falling asleep; I start taking them again.

Weigh the brains? As they’ve yet to perfect the cranial screw-top brain entry technique; I think I’ll pass.

    The dudes of TMTH?

Elmo: This character came (long?) after I had stopped watching Sesame Street. I hadn’t been tracking anything to do with the show when the Elmo craze hit the country. Naturally, my first and still only reaction to Elmo was to despise the nasty, red punk.

Puppetry convention: I vaguely remember William talking about that back in the day when we worked together. As for Tony’s comment that one of our co-workers turned out to be a puppet; well, I’d say that statement was true of upper management at that place…. In a small world sort of moment, a different friend of mine is a big fan of Sesame Street and actually got to meet Caroll Spinney (original actor who played Big Bird). Also, I’m with Tony; it was totally expected that William would give the feather to the co-worker who requested it.

My understanding is Disney got Studio Ghibli films because of Pixar and more specifically John Lasseter as Lasseter is an admirer/friend of Miyazaki.

HBOMax: Tony if you still can’t watch it via Roku/FireTV; you should be able to do it with a Chromecast.

Dragon Crew Launch: The touchscreens look very Star Trek, but I think I prefer hardware switches.

No Man’s Sky is a game I keep installing even though I’m rarely in the mood to play it these days. They’ve definitely added a lot to it since it launched. From Tony’s description, maybe I should give that another shot; and for the record, I’ve never gotten to the center of the galaxy. Mostly because I started playing back when it took thousands of warps to get there.

Ann Leckie’s Imperial Radch series is fantastic.

Discworld is undoubtable the most enjoyable series of fantasy novels I’ve ever read. Part of its charm is you can read different tracks or maybe subseries within the main series to get different perspectives on some of hte same events or to focus on characters that you particularly like. On the other hand, if you really want to see some of Pratchett at his best, take a look at Small Gods (Book #13).

    • Mark says:

Oops, I got too distracted by your talking about Discworld and posted before finishing the episode.

Virtual Guest on TMTH: If you’re taking votes for who to have I vote for Barack Obama. 😀 With that said, I enjoyed taking part in episode 500 and wouldn’t mind doing it again.
