What is this transmogrify of which you speak?

I’ve been binge-watching “The Great British Baking Show” recently and the happened to have a segment on the history of gingerbread.

At one point gingerbread shapes were given as love tokens from court ladies to knights, so actually pretty appropriate for Valentine’s Day. 🙂

I’ve been thinking of questions to send into the hat, and one I’ve been considering this week is asking if you ever argue with your wives. Thank you for answering that Tony.

I have wondered for the past few years if parenting was some sort of scheme – that once people had a kid, they TELL everyone that it’s great, and other people should have kids because they don’t want other people to uncover their “mistake.” If they ever successfully convince someone else to have a kid, then those new parents become part of this club who doesn’t want the non-parents to discover the scheme.
As a new parent myself, I can tell you that there are moments that are terrible, and moments that are awesome. You always need to keep up hope that there are even more awesome moments to come as they grow up – that’s what keeps you going!

I love America’s Test Kitchen; I have their cookbook. I tell people it’s how to cook things the one best way. We cook about a third of our meals out of that cookbook. For cooking shows, I also really like(d) Alton Brown on Good Eats. He was similar to ATK in that he’d delve a bit into the science of why to do things this way vs that way. He also had some funny props.

I think my sister-in-law/brother-in-law have that gourmet food cookbook. I didn’t know who would want to put in THAT much effort to obtain a Twinkee or Skittles or whatever. Most of the time, those flavors aren’t SO good that I’d want to put any effort into making it when on the rare occasion I want that flavor, I can just buy it.
