This week, we go through all of Tony’s birthday presents. Then talk a long time about a TV Tony’s barely watched, based on books few of you have probably read. Then Tony explains why he’s intimidated by Jas’s family, via Simpsons reference (of course). And then we call out our listeners once more on their perspective on gifts. We’re really mean about it. Enjoy!

Dammit!
I’m so mad at myself! I absolutely should’ve called this episode “Eye Protection.”
Ugh!
😀
or “(eye protection)”
Even better!
The name of the store is “Nothing Bundt Cakes” – I’ve never been, but I assume there’s still a problem with the pun in that I suspect they sell other things besides Bundt Cakes.
I stand corrected-ish. They also sell Bundtinis (cupcakes) and Bundtlet/Bundtlet towers.
I haven’t actually finished my doctorate. Researching the history of the Bundt cake could be an interesting dissertation topic, although I’m not certain what doctoral program that might be a capstone for. Do you know?
B-but… I’ve been calling you “Dr. Beth” to all my friends! Like, all the time! They’re going to be so mad at me!
So you’re an ABD? I learned about that term a couple years ago.
The issue for me is that “Nothing Bundt Cake” is a pun for “Nothing But Cake,” which makes sense. But if you read it NOT as a pun, it’s just “Nothing Bundt Cake,” as in ” anything that would fall into the category of Bundt Cake is NOT here.
