Tony makes some desperate pleas for some amazing shows, and William explains how a movie isn’t Don Quixote. Also, the monetization of air, and the dangers of AI. Enjoy!
QUESTIONS:
Guys, Why are tire pumps $1.50 to use when it used to be free? Is it inflation? –Azuretalon
AI… liberating us from the tedium of work, or gunning for our jobs? –Stu

I have already seen air pumps with credit cards AND with apps.
Dammit! I guess it’s the End of Days, after all.
As is often the case, as soon as I heard my question read back to me, I realized I phrased it poorly, probably to help the hat fit it on a card. However, the ensuing discussion was still really interesting!
Let me clarify though – this was less of AI a la The Matrix enslaving us, after deciding it no longer wants to be subservient. More of a automation is vastly reducing the job market, probably at a rate which exceeds that of the industrial revolution, but we’re WAY more tied to a need to earn money to survive now, rather than potentially living off the land or whatever. The question was my opening gambit as to our failing to help society adapt to these changes. Pennsylvania’s coal miners aren’t facing a unique problem, the mining industry was decimated in the UK in the 80s. That was also dealt with poorly.
Ohhhh!
In that case… I’m sure William can respond to that. 🙂
