Episode 707 : For Entertainment Purposes Only

YouTube link here. Probably some Ezzie?

Part 1 of 2. This week, we tackle the tough issues! But not really. Mostly, Tony just gets mad about political ads. And then we talk media, as usual. But we had two episodes to record, and only one email, so we had to vamp a bit. Enjoy!

There’s another podcast I listen to (Financial Feminist) who describes political parties, and even politicians themselves as riding a bus. You choose the one that gets you closest to your destination. If you want an uber type experience that takes you exactly where you want to go, you have to run for office yourself. Since I heard that analogy, I’ve been slightly less annoyed by political parties not doing exactly what I want them to.

I still don’t know about the ads. Is it possible that it’s not actually who spends the most to run the most negative ads, but who has the most support and therefore money to be able to spend the most on negative ads?

Hmm… I like that analogy. Though I hate people, so it’s not a good one for me. Guess I have to run for office! 🙂

Yeah, correlation is not causation, all that… and yeah, maybe we’re mixing up cause and effect.
