We get into some meaty discussion, thanks to Azuretalon’s email, this week. But as per usual, first you have to get through some of the usual crap. Enjoy!

Saw The Eternals and really liked it, especially the first half. The ending could have used some work, but I really liked the mythos and thought they did really well at handling so many characters. The one character I thought could have used some more work, unfortunately, was Circe (Sersi?).
Just a random thing I liked–I liked that Salma Hayek’s character was named Ajak. 🙂
Is there a significance I’m missing, for you, for that name? I think it’s the name of the character in the comics.
They did at least two gender flips of characters that I know of.
Oh, I just meant the gender flip of the name. So Hayek’s character would presumably have been the model for the mythological figure of Ajax, just as Gilgamesh was Gilgamesh. I think that opens up a whole lot of ways of thinking about how Ajak got reimagined as Ajax that kind of force one to abandon fixed notions of gender.
