This week, William and Tony express a lot of opinions. Some of them are phrased as facts, but both are keenly aware that they are subjective, biased opinions. They give a lot of opinions about TV, a few small opinions about videogames, and then a LOT of opinions on society and what’s wrong with it. And then they fix it. Enjoy!

I just read that Netflix released two bonus Sandman episodes, one of which is “A Dream of Cats” (which I love).
If you are looking for something else to watch, I just finished “Dark Winds” on AMC (based on the Tony Hillerman novels). Very strong Native American representation, not only in the cast, but writers, directors, camera work. Also really liked “Drole” on Netflix about aspiring stand-up artists in Paris.
Thought that was a great and useful conversation in response to Mick’s question.
I definitely get sucked into the need to do something to prevent a repeat of a particular election.
I think the feeling of lack of control plays a big role, and also feelings of lack of purpose. I think that latter one really plays a role in people getting over-invested in stories, and stories having to be written in a particular way, and cast in a particular way, etc.
RE: Sandman… yes, they’ve got two of the stories that take place in volume 3 of the comics. I’m nervous, because one of them is why I stopped listening to the most recent audio version. But as with several things in the TV show, I’m hoping they’re going to “tone it down” for us. We’ll see, probably tonight.
I think I’ve figured out what they’re doing. I said the show seemed to be skipping Volume 3 of the comics… but then I looked into it, and Volume 3 is just four standalone stories.
So it appears that these extra episodes will cover the bits they feel like covering, and then they’ll pick up (hopefully) next season with volume 4.
Every time I think they’re really going in a totally new direction, they snake it back around to the original plotline.
