Part 1 of 2 (for real this time). It’s been two weeks! We’ll explain the strange presence of last week’s evil hosts, and catch up on some serious business. Mostly movies and TV. Enjoy!

The news commentary on the Iowa caucus didn’t seem to focus on the question of “why is it so late?” or “they need to get results in.” In fact, I heard several people criticize them for turning in the partial results and that was more along the lines of, take your time and get it right rather than putting out partial results. The main wacky thing I heard both from local news folks on WAMC and WGBH was floating the idea that there had been some Russian involvement. To which my response would be something along the lines of, when your float these conspiracies ideas, you’re doing just what you claim the Russians of doing.
The other main points I heard were criticism of how poorly prepped they were with the app and with not enough folks on phones, and then the criticism that this is going to undermine the electorate’s trust (what’s left of it) in the electoral system.
I don’t like Bloomberg either, but hasn’t he got a good track record on the environment? That would distinguish him from Trump, IMO.
Binge-watched a lot of TV over my winter break. I highly recommend an old show I found on Amazon called “Hamish Macbeth” starring Robert Carlyle. It’s about a little fishing village in Scotland where Carlyle is the police constable. Sort of reminded me of Northern Exposure with a bit more mystery thrown in.
Just saw “Parasite” and it was excellent.
Sorry, I meant to say the news that I heard. Not “THE NEWS” in such a definitive way! 🙂
