I agree w/ both you guys (Tony/Anthony and Bill/William) I’ve had a lot of trouble with Beth/Elizabeth and email getting misdirected, both from people who know me well, and people who I’ve scarcely/never met. My current job started with an email address using Elizabeth and changed it to an address using Beth when they ordered me business cards, but about half my accounts are set up with one email and one is with the other and I can’t keep track of which account uses which email address.
I start a new job in 2 weeks, and this time I asked if they could set up my email as though my name is Beth. They said they’d do it; so we’ll see if that works out.
Several different people each thought they “invented” calling me Eastpond (though so common of an “invention” my grandfather was called that). Several people (kids and even few teachers) also would call me “WestBethlake” and sometimes got tripped up to call me WestBestlake, both of these I liked, particularly the spoonerism/Freudian slip that I was somehow “best.”
