Episode 369 : Tomb Splitter

We’ve got a few things to talk about, but a lot of it is a lively discussion about the film Tomb Raider. No spoilers of any significance. Also jokes, and making fun of an anonymous person. And The Producer in the background. Enjoy!

Why isn’t “I just want some bloody coffee” an option amongst the bewildering array of things I can get at Starbucks? –Anonymous

In regards the recording computer going aware, I have only one response: https://youtu.be/IoyvvEWHodk.

As for cleaning up the new computer, I’ve heard good things about PC Decrapifier. So if you’re still fighting to get that done, it might be worth your time to check it out. Another handy service for setting up a computer is Ninite. Ninite, let’s you build an installer to download/install/update multiple applications at once (including Audacity & FileZilla).

14 cents a day?!? That explains those mysterious charges that keep showing up..

Park Food: This is definitely not the most interesting thing about baseball. The most interesting thing is how many (otherwise highly intelligent people) enjoy it. ^_^

ME:A – So I suppose Tony, now you’re also incredibly sad to be done with it and to know that there won’t be any DLC for it.

Tomb Raider: I wanted to like it, as I loved the rebooted games, but it was just weak sauce. To me it felt like they tried to make it a bridge between the newer games and the Angelina Jolie movies. I guess the kindest thing I could say about it; is for a movie based on a video game, it wasn’t as most of movies of this type tend to be. Side Note: I only found the lead actress to be an acceptable likeness and not a good one. I didn’t recognize her name or face in the trailers or when watching the file as somebody I’d seen on-screen before. Having just looked up her IMDB profile, I realize now that the movie must have had worse writing/directing than I’d originally assume. As I’ve seen a number of her other films and liked all of them. In this film however, while she pulled off the action scenes without any issues, the emotional ones just fell flat.

As for other movies that got sequels, and nobody cares about: I must insist you remove Pacific Rim from that list. I had great fun with both the original and its sequel.

Ready Player One: Eh. I liked the book, but the trailers for the film don’t work for me.

Valerian: It was definitely different but the complete lack of chemistry between the leads killed it for me.

Knock, Knock Jokes: The interrupting cow was weak sauce and I have trouble believing “the banana one” is worse. Then again “the banana one” is such a generic description that I’m not clear on which awful KKJ you’re referring to.

“I just want some bloody coffee”: Relevant Dennis Leary bit.

Starbucks Coffee: Yeah, there are places one can get cheaper coffee and not all of Starbucks is good, but frequently the coffee Starbucks offers is better than what’s available in many other places.

Obvious Spam Bots: Given the number of times my comments have been held for moderation, I’m surprised I didn’t get a mention here.

You get held for moderation because your comments are so LONG. Spambots are more succinct in their attempts to scam us. 🙂
