Winter storms, illnesses, and Magic Kingdoms have thwarted us for a whole month, but we’re finally back together. Tony’s voice is an absolute trainwreck, but we’re not letting that slow us down. So much to catch up on. In fact, so much to catch up on that we didn’t have any time for questions. Sorry. Enjoy!

I may have told this story already, but when my parents got married, they had a big debate over peanut butter, Dad grew up on Peter Pan, and mom liked Skippy. They finally agreed (or mom did the shopping) on Skippy, but Dad often had crunchy and mom often had creamy which meant we had two jars of peanut butter anyway (so why did you bother to come to an agreement on brand?).
When I got married, my husband and I both tried each other’s brands, Skippy vs Jif, and while I enjoyed Jif’s slightly more peanutty taste and had less sugar, what keeps me a Skippy girl is how melty it gets on warm toast. But, both of us eat plenty of peanut butter so it’s not a waste of money (waste of space is debatable) to have two jars.
Epcot Japan is the first teppanyaki place I had ever eaten (I was 10). My family of 5 shared a table with an older couple, the guy who was (had been?) an engineer at Cape Canaveral doing something for the launch pad cooling and I think had worked on the Apollo missions. The food was good and we were really excited to find out that there were restaurants like this at home – and they’ve been my go-to for special dinners out ever since.
Oh, also, in college, I had a friend who was offered, by Disney, to come to Orlando and be Mickey Mouse. He declined 🙁
Holy crap! I know people who would KILL for an offer like that!
He is now working as a professional mascot, so I guess it all worked out. But still, I imagine having Mickey Mouse on your resume is still a talking point not many can boast.
also, not sure why in my post “Dad” got all capital Ds and “mom” got all lowercase Ms. Should have been caps for both of them because I was using them as their names. Sorry Mom.
It’s clear who you love best.
Holy crap, Ton you sound almost as bad as my Comp I instructor from back-in-the-day and that lady sounded like she’d been smoking 6 packs a day followed by whiskey chasers for the last 40 years. I’m glad there’s another episode
Peanut Butter: I really like Jiffy Low-Sodium All Natural. Also, crunchy is an abomination unto Nuggan!
Disney: I have a number of friends who are all massive Disney fans, love the parks, the cruises, etc. Hearing Tony’s take on the company is rather refreshing.
Pictures with Mary Poppins: Please tell me it was really Yondu with a parasol shouting “I’m Mary Poppins ya’ll!” 😀
Disney Food: Everybody I know tells me how good it is; I really need to get down there one of these days.
