It’s Christmas time! Not for us, we recorded this a week ago. But for you it is! We discuss our Christmas plans, classic literature, and not-so-classic TV. Happy Holidays, and Enjoy!
QUESTIONS:
Who is your favorite character on TV right now (if any)? –Jas

Marvelous Land of Oz is the sequel I found most interesting. It does kind of show that Baum’s support of feminism was mixed though.
I knew some of the actors who played Munchkins. 🙂 They had a house built to their size specifications which I visited when I was about 5. My parents had a really hard time getting me to leave ’cause everything was my size.
When I wrote that question, my favorite character was Joe West on The Flash. I also really like Nick Offerman’s character on Fargo, and his character on Parks & Rec. (which I’m binge watching over the holidays), and Leslie Knope.
Joe West is awesome and I love Leslie Knope!
And, yes, there have been three seasons of Bates Motel. They’re short seasons, though, so it didn’t seem like there have been three.
I think I confused the Wicked Witch of the East and Wicked Witch of the West very often in this podcast…
But it’s like I said… really easy to do with the book! Not so much in the film…
Still haven’t decided if I’ll read more Baum books… I am tempted to read some of them.
Can’t Sleep: Have you thought about trying melatonin supplements? When I’m having strings of insomnia; I’ve tried taking some. It doesn’t seem to help me fall asleep at all, but the sleep I get seems more restful. Though sometimes I seem to be extra groggy the next day after taking some (particularly when I’ve taken a higher dose).
Nuttin’: I’m sure there’s a bad pun that should be made here; but I’m going to rise above my inclinations and not make it.
Episode 1000: At 52 episodes per year, it will take you 19.23076923076923 years to do 1000 episodes.
Exothermic: I’m guessing next time will either be endothermic or explosive.
Astrology: I don’t recall ever believing in any of it, but like William have always found it interesting. Maybe because it’s got some science (observing the stars) tied to mythology?
Favorite Character on TV right now: None of the shows that I watch are on the air at this exact moment in time. 🙂 Of shows currently airing this season, I’d say Peggy Carter on Marvel’s Agent Carter. With that being said, there other characters out there that I find more interesting, but aren’t especially likable (e.g. Sherlock, though I prefer Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock).
I’ve not seen The Magicians yet, but have been enjoying The Expanse (though it doesn’t have any characters I’d call a favorite).
NPH’s show: Yup, I remember catching just a portion of one episode of his show and it was interesting but not compelling enough for me to track down the show and watch it regularly.
