A deerstalker is a hat. It is a hat that people usually picture Sherlock Holmes wearing. (Though in the original stories, he only wore a deerstalker when out in the country. Most of the time he wore a top hat.) So a deerstalker delegate is a representative of a hat–a hat associated with solving mysteries.
Yes! Deerstalker hats. Why did I forget about deerstalker hats????

OK, I just started “Kung Fury” and the opening scene is hilarious! The thing with the skateboard is kind of a genius special effects gag.

I’m a big “Game of Thrones” fan (both the books and the TV show) despite the sexual violence problem–which is definitely a problem. It’s especially noticeable that the TV show has a lot more of it than the book.
But one of the many things I most like about the series is that it has the largest number of interesting and diverse female characters of any show I’ve ever watched. I don’t know if the sexual violence problem is connected directly to the large cast of female characters. It does seem sometimes that the writers use it as the “this is what women have to deal with in this world” shorthand. At least it’s not the “this man is a bad man” shorthand.
I don’t know if either of you have heard of David Sirota’s book “Back to Our Future: How the 1980s Explain the World We Live in Now.” It’s about how 1980s pop culture really shaped the thinking of most of the adults in the US today. I heard David Sirota being interviewed on the Bob Edwards show the other day and it reminded me of a lot of the pop culture talked about on TMTH.
No, I haven’t heard of David Sirota, but I do think he’s probably right about the 1980s largely shaping on how people think today.
I guess there’s a companion video game to the Kung Fury film called Kung Fury: Street Rage.

Oh yeah, that reminds me that I have a friend who can hear “The Hum.” It’s a low frequency sound that only some people can hear. At first she thought she had ear problems but then found out it was this little known phenom. of a sound only some can detect. The source of it isn’t verified.

Magic vs. Technology: At this point, I’m fairly certain The Magical Talking Hat is how a being from a higher dimension is intruding its presence into reality as we know it.
Games in the Corridor: We’ve have fun the couple of times that we’ve been able to join in. And if Dav of Id wants to run a regular game/campaign vs. one shots; we’d totally be interested in that.
Craig Ferguson was in Iowa City? Damn, I hadn’t heard he was coming to the area or I would have tried coming to see him.
Kung Fury sounds interesting and I’ve just added it to list of YouTube vids to watch.
Dresden files: Yup.
TV Shows/First Seasons: Yup most of those had pretty bad first seasons. Though Farscape doesn’t belong in that list as it remained awful over its entire run.
