We talk about a lot of stuff this week! Movies, podcasts, games, other kinds of games, pizza, making fun of William, and hats. So many hats! Amazing (and expensive) hats! Enjoy!
QUESTIONS:
Dear The Magical Talking Hat, What is the most expensive hat you’ve ever bought? — Kat

I believe this is the Harmon podcast Tony was talking about.
Also, first post woot! 🙂

Wow… I’m not sure what’s wrong with me in this episode. Difficult to hear in parts. Not saying much. And then when I do say stuff I don’t make any sense!
Er, wait… maybe that’s every episode.
No no… it’s worse in this episode than in other episodes. And I know what happened. I didn’t have any chocolate beforehand. That’ll teach me.
Anyway, for the record, my uncle did say, “He’s no closer to God than I am.” I’m not sure how the term “religious” came into it, or even if it did. I’ve told this story a thousand times, because it was such a significant event in my life, so I don’t know how I could mess it up on the air. But, again… no chocolate.
Oh, and sincerely… I hope I didn’t offend any of our Catholic listeners. My beliefs differ from yours, obviously, but I have nothing but respect for devout Catholics.
*sigh*
I often hate my addled brain.
Plus… I talked to my friend Kat, and she confirmed that it was her question, but she said we’d never discussed her writing the Hat about it. She hadn’t even told me she was going to submit that question! So I totally dreamed up that conversation with her.
Curse my addled brain.
True, we never discussed writing the hat about…your insanely expensive hat…but I did tell you at some point I was asking an old, unanswered question, but I didn’t give a reference. You weren’t completely off. 🙂
And Tony’s right… I’m never listening again.
Marionberries are yum. I believe someone in the Zielinski family (a farm family local to the Salem, Oregon area) cross-bred the berries, and named it the Marion berry.
Here’s a Pizza Hut commercial that appears to use containers that look like paper tents:

Best wishes to Azuretalon! 🙂
Thanks for that video evidence, Kiya. 🙂
Harmontown is great, though… they suck as D&D players. Even if it is greatly entertaining.
I second Kiya Bee! Good luck Azuretalon!
Yes, I have seen what William was talking about for pizza tents (I think). But I’ve only seen them one place: Agatucci’s in Peoria, when you order pizza to go. It’s pizza on a cardboard bottom, slid into a bag (the kind Little Caesars used to use), then the bag is rolled up on the one side and stapled in such a way that the top of the bag is kind of a domed/tent shape that keeps the cheese (or grease) from getting on the bag. Not so good for delivery, but ok if you’ve got hungry pizza eaters in the car, each willing to hold a pie.
Don Pardo: Stop that, you’re causing me to flashback to my childhood!
ICPL: They’ve got WiFi; though I’m not sure how fast their connection is and not all of the rooms have the best reception. Mind you it’s been a few years since I’ve regularly been in there; so things might have changed/improved.
CPAP: When the CPAP machine helps you sleep while you’re stuffed up; do you wake up with headaches or just get a good night’s sleep? This time of year I tend to wake up with a stuffy head and a headache and if a CPAP would fix that; I might be interested.
Iron Man 3: Yeah, I’d agree that it’s on par with the second one. Bits were over the top, but in the way an Iron Man movie should be, though I felt the ending was a bit of a let down. The kid didn’t bother me and I pay so little attention to reviews that I wasn’t aware people didn’t like him until you mentioned it.
Shawarma: Avengers didn’t invite this, they just popularized it.
Dresden Files: Heh, this game sounds like a grand time. If you ever need an extra player; let me know. 🙂
Pizza Hut: Stuffed crust doesn’t suck; it’s just not great. Then again it’s Pizza Hut so there’s only so good that it could be. And the crazy crust cheese tastes exactly the same as the stuffed crust to me. I have no memory of this paper tent thing William remembers, but I do remember when I was in elementary school they had “Personal Pan Pizzas”. At the same time they had a reading program where if your kid read so many books; they’d get a free pizza. *sigh* I ate a lot of pizza that summer. 🙂
Woohoo, free hat tip! :p
William’s Dead Beaver Skin Skull Covering: We demand to know how much it costs and a picture! It may not be up to the same level of awesome sauce that The Magical Talking Hat is; but it must have (had?) some minor amount of magic for William to spend so much money on it.
Azuretalon: It’s a bummer that you’re back in the hospital, hope you get better soon!
