Episode 216 : Death of a Hat

This is kind of scary, people, but this week… we run out of note cards in the Hat. They’re done. It’s dead. Unless you write in. This was recorded last week, so hopefully you did. Otherwise, we’re just going to talk about butt stuff. Enjoy!

Hmm, weird. I sent a question in a while ago and it hasn’t been asked. Maybe the hat ate it. I also sent one last week, but I’ll resend the earlier one.

It is possible that, through a strange inter-dimensional time warp, certain questions may have ALREADY BEEN USED on a MYSTERY EPISODE that hasn’t even happened yet! Science!

      • jas says:

Ah, right! 🙂 OK then, either the hat will eat my duplicate question or you guys can discard it if it gets through into the future of a non-mystery episode.

My guess about the psychology of this is that reptile seems closer to human than say insect, but is missing the mammalian cuddly empathy factor. As in the way people refer to the more basic drive part of the brain as the reptilian brain. Sort of an uncanny valley effect.

I binge watched Daredevil while I had bronchitis and I would really recommend it. It did take a little while to get going. I found the minor characters not so great at first but they got better. The villain–the actor, and the storyline–are probably my favorite thing. They give him in some ways a more detailed backstory, and current relationship story than the hero.

Also binge watched the end of the previous season of Orphan Black. That’s another show I’d recommend. The main actor on that show is amazing.

Oh forgot to add that I found the violence disturbing on Daredevil, but kind of in a good way (if that makes sense). I wouldn’t say that it’s even as graphic as some other shows (though parts are graphic)–it’s more that the violence comes out of what’s wrong either psychologically or culturally.

    Bunny SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEAM!

Questions/Rewards: Of course, if you are wicked far behind on your listening; you’ll get an episode next week even if you don’t write in….

Avengers – Age of Ultron: Eh, I liked it fine but it’s not a good enough film to be worth getting a divorce over some spoilers. Bet you didn’t see that coming….

70th Birthday: My mom turned 70 this year too. We’re holding her a party at my brother’s later this month. Looking to be a good time (as much as any family gathering can be).

Bat vs. Superman: Meh, nothing I’ve heard or seen for this makes me even vaguely interested.

Kennedy Assassination: I’ve never understood all the fascination with this piece of American history.

Is Cable Gru a house-elf from Harry Potter?

I’ll note that nowhere do you ask for good questions; so you take you chances.

Comedy Unobtainium: Tony, you still haven’t struck this.
