My brother did detasseling one year, he got paid quite a bit more than $3/hour but I saw how dirty and exhausted he got after a single day so I was smart enough to never go for one of those jobs.
If you’re desperate enough to consider crime to get health care, maybe you should consider emigrating to another country where they have some sort of national health care system (e.g. Canada).
