Okay, let’s get something clear here. 13th Warrior is TOTALLY a D&D movie. It has all the hallmarks of your average game.

    Here are just a few…

    – A group of heroes answering the call of a king because they were chosen by some creepy old women at a party.
    – One of said heroes is from a culture that is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from that of everybody else and he really shouldn’t be there at all except we were given some vague story about how he seduced somebody he shouldn’t have and was shunted off somewhere by the powers that be.
    – The above mentioned incongruous hero is a bard.
    – Viking leader has interest in learning to read and write as well as monotheism.
    – King who needs help is old and decrepit.
    – Giant opening skirmish followed by dungeon crawl ending in two boss battles.
    – Somebody fails their check vs. poison.
    – Inspirational short poem about death.

I’m sure I could come up with more if I were to watch it again.

Also, I would put to you that “a good D&D movie” and “a good movie”, are really two different things.

    I love our listeners.

I have to totally agree with Bloodsparrow here. I will even take it a step further and say that 13th Warrior is a GREAT movie. I love the damn flick beyond measure. I worship it on the same level as most people do Star Wars or Holy Grail. So… poop on you Tony.

    Also, I am great.
