Just an FYI, the RSS feed for your site/podcast did not properly enclose the MP3 file for your first episode. This means that if somebody adds your RSS feed to their podcatcher, the MP3 won’t download.

  2. Uh-oh… how do I fix it? I’m completely clueless on this stuff!

UPDATE: I activated a SmartFeed thing on Feed Burner that said it would make the feed compatible with most formats. Will that fix it? I still get all my podcasts through iTunes, so I’m really in the dark.

Doesn’t look like that did it. When I check your feed for the podcast, I’m getting an image file instead of the MP3. Maybe try reading through and try following the instructions from on WordPress.com’s Audio Support page?

    • Mark says:

Hmm, maybe the problem is my “podcatcher” (Rhythmbox 0.13.1 under Ubuntu 10.10). I just tried posting an mp3 file to my WordPress.com site, following the instructions as listed on the page I mentioned in my previous comment but had the same results trying to grab the podcast feed for it as I did with your feed.

Rhythmbox is how I download & listen to all my podcasts. So I guess if iTunes users aren’t having any problems downloading/listening to your podcasts, then you can probably just ignore freakish outliers like myself who don’t have use it.

Pssst. Post the titles of the books please. Are they available on Kindle?

    • I put all the links in the original post, including Amazon links to the two books. I don’t believe they have Kindle versions… but I think if you go on Lulu.com and find the books, they might have a PDF format. Do those work on Kindles? I’ll try and talk to William about it on the next episode.

  4. Stu says:

Yeah, you can email a PDF to your kindle (it’ll be your amazon_username@kindle.com, check in your kindle’s settings for the exact address) and it’ll automatically appear on your kindle a few minutes later (assuming you’re in 3G or wifi range).

    Hazzah!

100 years ago there were fewer teatotallers per capita than there are today. ““In 2002, 50% of US adults were current regular drinkers. 36% of US adults do not drink any alcohol at all. Abstention is an important option. Fewer Americans consume alcohol today as compared to 50 to 100 years ago.” (Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2010)
